He used it for hiking/keeping the sun out of his eyes, and it withstood the humidity of Costa Rica and long plane travel. I think it looks great, does the job, and was worth it at the price we were willing to spend. Great Stetson product that will get much more use in the years to come! Will it keep my head and face dry?** A: I was very apprehensive about wearing it during the snow blowing and shoveling this past winter. I decided to give it a shot since its advertised that its water resistant and it was great. It was covered with snow an inch thick. Shook it off a few times, ended up placing it on a flat surface for a couple of days and it was just fine. It kept its shape, size was good too. The band I got rid of and got the one from the Good the Bad the Ugly now. It is a nice look for the hat. Its adjustable, keeps its size nice too. Its a great look, no matter the area. The color is a very nice green. I am getting another to keep better care of since the price came back down for now. Not from Sheplars due to their returns policies. You pay $30 easy. After opening the box and seeing it in the paper it was packed in I realized I got a good deal so far. The hat was a little pushed around in the box, not a dedicated hat box. This mattered not all, the hat pushed right into shape and is a perfect fit on my head. The olive color is great, I really like the dark green on this. I like everything about this hat. The crown is easy to grab and pinch, the sides have a nice curve popular in the aussie styles now. I am not a cowboy, don't ride a horse, but this hat gets worn a lot now. Its a four season hat to me. Keeps the sun and rain out of my eyes and glasses. Michigan gets hot and muggy but this hat isn't too thick for warmer weather. Its nice to get a perfect fit, well made hat in the mail. The band is thin but classy looking. If I had to only have one cowboy hat, this would be my choice and I have a few. Even after a little while, and a more pricey purchase here and there, a nice new leather hat band later and this is still my natural go to. The cloth sweat band is always comfortable.
