Stats and Research for the Counselor
If you are not already a statistician and do not expect to be a heavy-duty researcher, this is the volume to have on your bookshelf. It gives you the essentials for setting up your research and gives your enough information and basic understanding of stats to be able to carry on an intelligent conversation with your statistician about your research needs.

Extensive, Yes... Useless, Mostly...
So... Where to begin? Within the first three chapters, we have definitions like:"Hypothesis are conjectures or guesses at the solutions or answers to a problem or situation.""A control variable is an independent variable other than the independent variable of primary interest whose effects are determined by the researcher, and included in the analysis in order to get a clearer picture of the effects of the primary independent variable."If you can understand this, by all means, get this book. The authors REALLY need a professional editor, and not some grad assistant doing it for them. It is poorly written and very difficult to understand without a teacher guiding you through the theories. I have never encountered these types of theories before in the undergraduate level, so being thrown into these types of explanations are very difficult and completely illegible.Unacceptable for the price paid.
