Design Toscano Imperia Marble-Inlaid Column: Medium

I was mildly concerned reading some of the lower ranking reviews, so I ordered this with a bit of trepidation. Needlessly. It arrived in excellent condition, and as mentioned in other reviews, no assembly required. The workmanship is good, and the carving is nice. There was a strap still across the bottom of it, looks like it was used to hold it rigid while it dried, then someone forgot to remove it, but that took me about 30 seconds to take care of. It is now in my 'museum' (formal room) holding a piece of art that a friend made for me. It looks very nice, and makes the art look even more nice. All in all a good buy. I am concerned however that when I eventually pass on, that my heirs will value the pedestal over the art work.

This is perfect for my needs. Some may complain that the carving isn't as deep or intricate as it could be, but that doesn't bother me. Seems well done for the money. It's big enough for a good medium size plant but works better (in my opinion) for a statue or artistic vase. Not as heavy as it looks, which is a benefit if you've ever picked up a 'real' one before. Very well made, I will consider getting another one!

The picture does not do justice to the quality of the stand. It's very attractive and better than expected. A real find.

I wanted a pedestal to feature my 1760 George III knife box. The base measures 12 x 12 so I had to have a larger platform pedestal. It was made in China and the carving was reasonable. The marble insert was very similar to a Chinese plant stand I own from 1900. The knife box and pedestal wood matched very nicely. It was well packaged but very heavy. I believe it does a wonderful job showing the antique knife box.

Beautiful piece, but cheaply made. I returned three of them. They all had scratches, cracks, wood was coming apart, etc. They're made in China.

It’s of good quality, shiny and solid wood but I think for its size, it’s quite pricey. I took 2 stars off because while it is too heavy, the cheap cushions on the bottom were not properly placed. So the pedestal is not stable. We have to fix that. For the price, we expected a more stable one. Also, the marble on the top is not that great. Looks like bad workmanship glueing the marble to the wood.

The craftsmanship is beautiful and there is no assembly to do, just pull it out of the box.
