Definitely good quality parts and construction. I took a look inside. Big toroidal coil for filtering. Thick metal case, with grounding straps. Heavy gauge wiring where needed. I mainly bought it for the high/low voltage cutoff and the non-sacrificial surge protection. It does not affect the noise floor of my already quiet equipment. Note to those who think otherwise, this will not make your single coil guitar or noisy tube amp any quieter. The power conditioning only works on dirty line voltage, not noise originating from single coils, poor shielding, bad cables, noisy electronics, etc.

This is an exceptional product that worked miracles on my vintage audio gear. I have an older home, and definitely felt like there were some electrical noise/grounding issues. I could hear it in the hum on my preamp's phono stage (I felt maybe it was because I had a newer "ungrounded" turntable, but the same hum was present in a grounded vintage one too). The same phono stage really had an overly-loud pop when switched as well. If playing a record, and something on the same circuit was switched on, I could hear it in the speakers for a millisecond, etc. So I bought this model, largely because it had additional filtering that the cheaper models didn't have, mainly the LIFT tech (whatever that is). As soon as I plugged it in and turned on my preamp (Denon PRA1000), everything was different - it stopped every piece of electrical noise cold, and even cured the overly-loud pop when switching the phono stage (turned it into a much more "normal" sounding pop that's inherent to audio equipment). I am super impressed. Highly recommended if you are into audio.

I have a recording studio with equipment to protect. I have 3 power units at my work station. I use an Imac with Logic pro 9 and a Apogee Duet for my interface. Avalon Pre amp, BBE 882, Roland & Yamaha Keyboards along with GR 50, and lots of other electronic gear. Phantom power supplies for my neumann Mics. Along with an Apple's high end laptop for portable work. The lights over the rack makes adjusting controls easy on all the gear under the power supply. I have used one for some time and decided to split my systems into 3 sections. Each device has plenty of room when plugged into the power supply. The front outlet I use for guitar amps or other equipment that I use only a little. Would be nice to have a phantom power supply built in. I am next to neon lights with no hum or nose of any kind. Live recording is clean. My old fender Fat Fifties Pickups sometimes cause the 60 cycle hum and some scraching noise from the pick guard. It is a work around sometimes. I love to play and make music with my friends. I highly recommend protecting your gear with this high quality power conditioner.

The lights are a must if you have any sort of audio rack. It helps a ton so I can lower the light in the studio but still see what I am doing. Adds a nice professional edge to your audio rack too. I have one of these but now I am out of power banks for my additional synths and turntable so I got my second one to power up my new compressor plus my mic preamp. All to set in a new audio rack. This furman hasn't let me down in 5 years so they have my loyalty as long as they make affordable and effective stuff.

Working pretty good so far

When I think of all the cheaper power bars I've purchased over the years, it makes me wish I knew about this product long ago. The cheaper ones, including Monster and other "quality brands", do not provide this level of protection and filtering. Also, the cheaper ones all eventually die, meaning they stop protecting my stuff. One bad storm can kill their surge protection and then you'll have to replace it. The Furman protection will basically last "forever" because of the way it's designed to protect itself with multi-stage protection that the others don't have. If you spend decent money on your computer, TV, stereo, etc. then I urge you to spend a couple hundred dollars and protect that gear. It will last AND your audio and video quality will improve too due to the filtering/conditioning. I can't explain it, but you can notice an improvement between plugging into the wall socket or plugging into this Furman. Highly recommended for valuable home electronics and also for gigging musicians to use for their amplifiers, p.a.'s, etc. I now own a number of these.

I replaced an older model Furman with this unit. Fit in the rack is perfect. The amount of outlets is just what I needed. There is no 60 cycle hum or other power related noised on any circuit plugged into it. These power conditioners are awesome for a rack full of signal processors, amps, or just about anything you want to plug into it. The LED lights on the front make it the essential top mount for any rack with adjustable equipment. I highly recommend this power conditioner!

Purchased two of the Furman PL-8C units for work, not in the music industry but for clean power in the data collection side of things. So far they have performed very well. Like the rotating lights on both sides of the units with brightness control. Transformer block spacing on the back so not all the plugs are jammed together. There are also two separate banks for power. A red light will glow if you have received a big spike.
