Review: 2 different types of Sandtastik - I purchased 2 different orders of Sandtastik. The one from desertcart and then 3 more boxes from Walmart’s website because I had a Walmart gift card I needed to used. I didn’t pay attention to the difference in the boxes- and it’s important for you to know there are 2 different types of Sandtastik sand!! The pure white which is extremely fine, and the “natural” color which is a much larger granulated sand. In truth I do like both but the photo I’m posting shows the box with the natural sand and the picture of both sands next to each other. The white sand does have more dust because it’s just so light it can float up. I find both enjoyable and fine enough to be pleasant. Home Depot and all other garden centers sell really bad (orange clay sand) that stains the clothes and hands. Not only that- their sand appears to be the by product of cement processing plants. So your getting lots of cement rocks and you can see it’s sold by Quick-set which makes cement. I wanted my baby to play in soft sand! I had to dump out all the Home Depot sand and buy the expensive stuff and we love it. I bought 6 boxes and there were NO bugs. I’m actually thinking that these customers probably just didn’t close their sandbox all the way. And you might get a bug in the sand but you know what... my boy eats dirt and rolls in the grass. So I’m not worried about that- but this sand is super clean and I’m speaking from the point of a very obsessive clean mom.

**Q: Can anyone tell me what 25 pounds of this looks like? For example, how many shoe boxes would it fill? Or how much of a 4-leg sand table would it fill?**
A: I also have a 4-leg Sand table about 2 ft wide and 3 ft long.   The 25 lb bag filled it up less than 2 inches high.   The sand is really great, feels wonderful and doesn't stick to the kids.  But, I feel that the expense was too much to have toddlers throwing it is the grass.

**Q: Is this silica free?**
A: Yes it absolutely is silica free.  It's a good product and very safe.

**Q: Would one box fit inside the step 2 crabbie sand table**
A: If you look up the Step 2 Crabbie on Amazon the specs say 
"Holds up to 25 lbs. (11.34 kg) of sand"

I agree you would not need to buy this quality sand for an outdoor tray for little kids. You can go get builder's sand at a home improvement store or even if you want to be "sanitized" products go with a cheaper option. The main thing for this purpose would be to keep the lid on when not in use so you don't have to clean out bugs, twigs, etc.

I use this product for Sandtray Therapy. It's a finer texture and clings better than builder's sand, which you want for sandtray, to sculpt and or add water and have it hold its shape. This does mean it's a little dusty.

**Q: When the sand is poured, i.e. from one sand bucket into another, does dust fly up into the air that could be inhaled?**
A: A small amount of dust does occur.  I suggest finding a recipe where you add mineral oil and create a dustless sand. It also clumps together.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Needed to Replace Dusty Sand. This one is perfect!

I needed to replace the sand for my play therapy space. I needed sand that was easy to clean and not dusty. My old sand, I felt like my kid clients and myself were choking. This sand is smooth, soft, and a lot less dusty. Hardly any dust. It definitely was a bit pricey since I can get a bag of sand at Lowe's for much, much cheaper, but this quality of sand was very nice. I'll provide an update from my other therapist on their take on the new sand and if its easy to clean.
