Good for Sous Vide and storing 3D printer filament
I have a FoodSaver, and I originally came across this bag size when attempting to Sous Vide large prime rib roasts that just won't fit in the typical bags. Target used to carry these, but alas no more. These bags hold more due to pleats at the sides that unravel to make a larger bag. Just be sure to leave a larger (i.e 5+ inches) header/slack at the open end so that sides can reoppose flat for sealing. You're supposed to seal the ends on "wet mode" due to the need to seal 4 layers of plastic that fold up at the sides. However, if you're like me and don't have this mode, then just actuate the sealer mode twice (latch, seal, unlatch, wait for FoodSaver power light indicator to turn off, relatch, seal, unlatch, viola!) I know there are other "big" bag rolls made by other companies. I find that alternatives just don't work well. They don't seal well (i.e. air doesn't evacuate quickly or entirely, edges don't oppose well for sealing, and seals break open). I'm just not going to waste any more money on those alternatives. I'm sticking with FoodSaver brand bags. Now, I don't make a lot of roasts (it's a Holiday thing, and Holidays went on strike in 2020). However, I have found that these are a nice size for storing 3D printer filament wound on those giant rolls (i.e. filament rolls won't fit in the standard-sized bags). I just make a bag from the roll, drop in a desiccant pack with the filament, vacuum seal, and store. (Remember to actuate twice when sealing ends.) Viola!

Durable and easy to use
Vacuum sealer bags are perfect for sealing entire chickens. We recently culled 10 chickens from our flock and they conveniently fit inside these large bags. These combined with my FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer made quick work preserving the chickens for the freezer.

Great for sealing food that has liquid.
I like to pre-make dinners and these work great for meals that have liquid like chili or soups. It can take some time to get the edges lined up to vacuum and seal but I’m happy these make sealing those type of meals do-able.

Meh, hard to get to seal
They do fit larger items, but it is VERY difficult to get it to evacuate. Even following the instructions, leaving a full 5 inches, and pulling out any wrinkles. Too bad. I had high hopes for a few items that didn't fit the other style of bag.

Great product, but very difficult lining up the pleats perfectly, to get a good seal.
I purchased these specifically, for two extra large ceramic casserole dishes of lasagna I made to be frozen, for an upcoming week of a family get together don in TN, as I am preparing foods in advance. I had a few hurdles to overcome however in using these. The instructions were clear, that I needed to allow an extra 5" off bag, to allow me to get the pleats folded EXACTLY the way they come on the roll, for the machine to get a good seal. Food Saver even included a paper measuring piece, so you knew you had the 5" of extra bag. HOWEVER, to my surprise on the 1st pan we did, (BTW, these were already frozen, with parchment paper over the lasagna, and wrapped in butchers freezer paper, before I learned these bags were available), so when we unwrapped the 1st one, to put it in this bag, we found lining the pleats up perfectly, became a 2 person task, as once one side was lined up, someone had to hold them tight, while I lined up the pleats on the other side. Once accomplished, we both held our pleats tight, as we maneuvered the casserole into the vacuum channel of the machine. To my surprise, it sucked it down over the edges of the casserole, right down to the top of the lasagna, (which is great, as that eliminates any ice crystal formation), but there was one end of a lasagna noodle curled up, that I didn't notice, as I left the original parchment paper on top of the lasagna, but as it pulled it tight, that noodle actually punctured the bag which then allowed for an air leak, and making it impossible to seal. Luckily, we had a roll of packing tape in a kitchen cabinet, and we grabbed it, as I pushed the noodle down flatter, my wife quickly applied two overlapping pieces of packing tape, which stopped the air leak, allowing the bag to seal, and stay sealed. When we did the 2nd pan of lasagna, I lifted the parchment paper 1st, and than used a large spoon to flatten out any points sticking up, before we placed the casserole in the bag, and the 2nd one was flawless.
