I made a leg that was 2x2x32 and had no problem. My guess would be your table saw would be the limiting factor. For safety sake, no matter what size leg I would recommend using the gripper, also a product made by Microdial. I stated the largest leg I have made is a 2x2x32 and the smallest was a 1 5/8x1 5/8x14.
