Strong, fast and secure connection Wifi network Connects to fastest Wifi point and band Insures protection - Fully automatic updates Family friendly controls - Easy scheduling Google Wifi app - Simple network control Review: Great best option out there fo a set it secure it and leave it - These things are the older model so this is called the Google Wi-Fi and it’s really really good. desertcart got involved with them and I feel like the overall it’s a great product or great. I really think that all this is really amazingly and that the function is really good. I got the refurbished renewed ones which worked just fine. I was able to put two together and I’m able to connect in my mesh and their functioning like brand new normal units like I would need and I’ve never even had one fell in the last six years. So I have no need to really buy new ones at this time. Everything‘s working great my message is secure and maintained very well. I had to put one lock kind of far from the other, but it was able to pull in the network and bring it full circle. Just fine signal sometimes can show weak but overall I’ve never had any issues with limited functionality of my Wi-Fi. This is the best option for a set up to leave it don’t mess with it. Don’t mess with it. Also, with Google Home, you can do all kinds of stuff like set profiles. Turn the Wi-Fi off at a certain hour. Make sure your kids aren’t on a certain device stop certain device so you can’t get his attention. You can do all kinds of different features like set a timer for something for priority if you Internet is not the best. It’s ultimately made for the low bandwidth networks. I think it is a great job keeping the connectivity and fixing those kind of problems. Does an awesome job. Review: Solid coverage. Fast network speed. A definite upgrade from our prior network. - I purchased a 3-puck Google Wifi system through desertcart to replace our more traditional wifi modem. The wifi in our house had become increasingly unreliable, with frequent dropped signals and interruptions in service. My wife works from home quite a bit, so reliable wifi is important. We live in a three story house (basement, main floor, upstairs) of about 3000 square feet, built around 1900. The lathe and plaster walls, and old school plumbing and wiring, make wifi and cell phone coverage a challenge. I placed one puck in the basement next to our cable router, one in the living room on the main floor, and one in the office upstairs. I attached an ethernet switch to the puck in the basement to accommodate our hard-wired devices. I did not wire the pucks themselves to one another. They are connecting to one another via wifi. The mesh system has greatly improved the performance of our wifi network. The internet speed for the computer in the office had typically run in the 25-30 Mbps range. It now runs 75-80 Mbps. We have not had the new system long enough to make a definitive assessment regarding long-term reliability. However, the performance so far has been great. Installation and setup was relatively easy, but I did have some issues. You do the setup through an app on your phone. There is no written documentation to speak of included with the units. The system would not recognize one of the pucks when I went to install it. I found a solution (resetting the puck using the reset button) after some searching on the internet. Once I identified the issue, and found instructions for resetting the puck, it installed without issue. The whole process took 60-90 minutes. If I had not needed to diagnose and reset the puck, the process would have been very easy, and would have taken no more than 20 minutes. All in all I am very pleased with this product, including the installation and setup process. You can get wifi modem's for a lot less. Given my experience to date, I believe this system is worth the extra money. I hope it proves to be reliable in the long run.

Greatly extends range without hurting speed or signal but place carefully
The first thing you need to know about these is that you should turn wifi off if you have an integrated modem/router. The reason is that the wifi coming from your modem can interfere with the extender but this hasn't been an issue for me. Each one comes with a CAT6 cable and are 2.4 and 5GHz capable. This one is a single node that I added to my 3-pack. You need to plan out how you're going to place these for optimum coverage and bandwidth. The initial one connects directly to your modem and then sends the signal out to every other node. I have a decently sized house with 3 floors and a detached garage with a finished second story where my office is. So I have my first node close to my router very close to my wall that faces by detached garage. The second is also on the same ground floor but a little bit further than halfway to the front door which is right about below my master bedroom. The third one sits on the ground in the closet of my master bedroom and the last one is naturally placed but as close to the wall facing my house as possible. In the Google Home app you can run a test when you select the main node (the one that's connected to your modem with the cable) that tests the connection of all the Nest Wifi nodes on your network. All the ones that matter to me have great connections but the master bedroom one only has a "good" connection. I'll need to probably move that one slightly around the room somewhere but it's not a big deal so far. Before getting these I had dead spots on my second floor and almost no wifi on my third floor. Now I might as well be next to my router just about anywhere in my house including my garage. I can't lose my wifi signal until I get into the middle of the street across from my house and even then there's spots where it'll connect still. I got full coverage from my cellar to the first, second, and third floor plus the entire garage. A trick for connecting devices that only work with 2.4GHz devices (since these don't let you disable 5G temporarily), is to move to the edges of your coverage where you start losing bars and you'll likely be connected on the 2.4GHz channel. Overall I have 4 of these in my 2800sqft house and it works great.

Easy setup, If use Google support
Once I got the wifi up and running it was great. Connection is strong and getting fast download speeds throughout the home on wifi which was surprising. Each pod has a lan port which is nice. I have two PCs that I connect through lan cable instead of wifi, and it works well. I got an open box unit so I was a bit nervous. My box did not come with instructions, so I had to search online for guidance. I was able to connect one pod to ISP modem after a little mingling around. Don't hesitate to call Google support for help, they will make sure you get up and running no matter how long it takes. I ended up needing to call them to get the other pods to work. Below are some tips and tricks to make set up smooth: *Make sure to set up pods all in one room first. It does not matter which pod you choose to connect to the internet (main unit). - Make sure you set up one pod at a time. - Download Google wifi app first on phone or tablet. - Open up app to begin set up, when app prompts to search for devices don't hit next yet, this is when you plug in the pod you want to setup. - Plug in the Pod, the unit will turn on, initially you may see a solid Blue light. This is the first step the solid blue light means its resetting. Note: it can take up to 10 minutes to be ready for setup so be patient, I wasn't that is why I ended up calling customer service. - Once the unit has arelatively slow blue pulses that is when you hit next in the app to search for Google devices. - Follow the prompts in the app to finish setup. - Once the unit is setup it will be solid white. - Next click add to network, repeat setup steps above plug in device wait for slow blue pulses, click search for devices, choose the room you want it to be in and wait for white light. Once white light is on unplug unit and move it to the room you want it in. Once you plug it in again it will automatically connect since you already set it up in the main units room. Another thing I learned is you can have two separate Networks Your main network and your guests network. There is no way to separate Networks by radio band, meaning 5 ghz vs. 2.4 ghz so both your main and guest networks potentially can use 2.4 or 5ghz. The neat feature with Google wifi is that the devices when connected to the wifi will automatically connect to the best radio band for it no matter which network its on. This takes the guesswork out of it for you. So all those wifi enabled kitchen gadgets that require 2.4ghz should work smoothly without needing to manually choose the radio band required. I'm glad I called customer service. I am a techy person and had difficulty figuring it out on my own. I almost packed it up and sent it back. After two hours of struggling I gave in and contacted support, they were helpful and patient. If you follow my tips and tricks above you should have no problem. Remember be patient give each unit up to 10 minutes before pressing reset button and unplugging it. If you want to reset it you must press the button while unplugging it and plugging it back in, then let the button go. Hope this long winded review is helpful for someone.

Not the best, but OK for the money
I bought this because I wanted a router that wasn’t too expensive or a large eyesore to look at with a bunch of antennas. Super easy set up right out of the box, I like that Google’s products are all integrated in one Home app. I can pull up my router’s information anytime, even when I’m not at home. I am a bit disappointed with the up/download speed. It accommodates streaming 1 video and some basic email checking. Works okay if I don’t need to do much, but I did purchase the Deco TP Link router to see if that one works any better in the same price range. Maybe this Nest Wifi is so slow because it is refurbished, but it does work out as long as you aren’t a video game streamer or need the WiFi for frequent zoom calls. 4 stars because it does what it is supposed to do. -1 star for slow performance.

Easy pairing, now I enjoy hd streaming in the garage
I originally got the 2nd gen version to add on to my gen 1 mesh but it wasn't handing over well and the split ghz wasn't allowing devices to find it correctly. This gen 1 seems more effective. The 4th point helps get enough signal to stream HD on the smart TV in the back of the garage.

Works great
Easy to such up with existing system. I had bought a refurbished one, but returned it for a new one. Refurbished would not sync.

DONT Buy GOOGLE!
We had to add another Google wifi node to our AC1900 TP-Link/Google hub. We never had any problems with the Google wifi system since installation. In fact we invested in 2 large Google speakers, numerous speaker pods, and endlessly used Google assistant. Well Google did away with live customer support. The App we used to make adds and changes to the system had been removed by Google. So now our system is useless. Google support is now read and find your problem and spend hours and hours getting no where. So the system we invested in and we paid a high price as such. To buy the confidence of the Google name and technology. Is nothing more than trash. Just like how Google abandoned its Google music of which I had enjoyed so much. One day its gone. After buying over 300 songs at $1.25 a pop. On top of that Google sells my data I'm told. After researching for a non tech head I purchased numerous mesh wifi systems. Over three weeks I tried installing TP-Links (3), tech support always had to escalated, which took another 3 days of waiting to get my system up. Returned all 3. The others had major security issues and no firmware updates. I ended up with the Eero 6* mesh system 3 pack, purchased on Prime Day sale. The app was very easy and simple. I had the system up and working within 30 minutes. I called customer tech support. Had a young man on the line who fined tuned the system. Noticed I wasnt getting the internet speeds I was paying for in his testing process. Informed me on the Eero system security and automatic firmware updates. Eero even has a firewall. Top shelf stuff. This is what I was hoping to find when Google dumped me. LIVE tech support 24/7. Security. Ease to set up. Long history of users. AND they dont sell your privacy! I went ahead and purchased 4 Blink cameras to replace my Googles. A couple of nice sounding Echo Dot speakers to replace my Google speakers. Set up Alexa. Purchased the Amazon Cloud monitoring service at $99 per year. Times make security issues both online and at home a priority. I now can view date and time a pic of a security issue from any one of my cameras 24/7 from my cell. Its worth it. Good by Google.

Not a UK plug
I bought this from Amazon.co.uk. It came with a USA plug. I would not have bought it if I had realised this. Now have to buy an adaptor. Love the product, have used it for years, just needed to extend my mesh.

Works at intended, good upgrade to any old router
Increased my internet speed. I'm paying for 75mbps download and was only getting about 15-20mbps with my old router. Plugged this thing in and now I'm getting actually over what I'm paying for at 80-85mbps! Crazy!
