## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does it take a lot of hand strength or coordination to use this tool? I want to use it for woodcarving projects.**
A: This is a hand-powered “drill”, not a “carver”.
It does a great job of drilling holes.

**Q: Can this be used to screw a small screw into wood and not just make holes?**
A: I have not tried that, as it is a drill & not a driver.
However, I have used my power drill like this to achieve what you asked.
You will need these parts:
A. The drill with the proper size drill bit
B. The proper size "phillips head" screw & driver to match
C. Patience

First, measure exactly the following:
1. Diameter of the screw
2. Select a drill bit slightly smaller, so the screw will grip the interior side wall of the hole

Second, walk thru the process on a test piece of wood with drill bit, screw bit and screw so you can learn the proper rotational speed and pressure

3. Measure carefully
4. Drill the hole(s)
5. Swap the drill bit for the screw bit
5a. Use a dab of liquid soap on the screw point
6. Insert the screw by hand for proper alignment
7. While using enough pressure to ensure the bit does not jump off the screw head, slowly crank the handle.
7a. Try to maintain a consistant crank speed to control the process
8. Pay careful attention & b.r.e.a.t.h.e.

**Q: Anybody have a trick for keeping the bit in? Ours seems to fall out at each try to reverse or pull it out of the wood**
A: The answer is to keep the bit turning forward as you pull the bit out of the hole. If you turn the drill in reverse the but will become loose and you might actually even unscrew the chuck from the drill. It's a fault that might be solved with a little epoxy or LocTite on the threads.

**Q: Is this made iin USA?**
A: No, unfortunately it is not ,but it's still a Fiskars  tool and I would recommend this for any small to medium job
