Inside there are two dried bricks that are meant to break in half as needed, making a total of four squares half the length and the same width as shown. Each of the four squares in the package will fill a 3 gallon grow bag, or two each in two separate 5 gallon grow bags or the whole package fills one ten gallon grow bag. I recommend going twice as large as you think you need. One 10 gallon works better than two 5 gallons if it fits. I would try two 10 gallons instead and let them live a little and reach capacity easier while draining better so that you can water them "just what they need" everyday instead of all they can handle every two or three days. Drier is better. Daily helps more. Watering modest amounts daily adds more total water volume so you can get by on lower ppms while increasing uptake and keeping it so dry it is never too wet. Ent wisdom! **Q: If i soak this in boiling RO water will it kill any fungus gnats it comes with? i read in the reviews that some may contain fungus gnats** A: Never had that problem. I soaked it in water and liquid fertilizer. Plants took off quickly. This stuff is really clean. **Q: Do i use regular water to expand the coco or must i use a mix of full strength nutrients. i was told i'm not supposed to expand it with just water?** A: I've used coconut coir for 2 outdoor gardening seasons. I blend with various compost and vermiculite and fill buckets or grow bags. I expand the brick with rain water or tap water that I have allow to sit for a day or two. When I make my blend I add organic feritilizer to the mixture but don't expand the brick with a mineral/fertilizer/nutrient rich solution.
