Backcountry Hunting Approved!
It was fairly easy to apply. The how to videos are very helpful, and made application a breeze. I applied 1 week before going on a Colorado Hunting Trip, hiked about 25 miles in rocky terrain and had great luck. Before and After photos included. The protector did a good job of resealing my toes where they were beginning to leak.

Buy It
A must have for anyone who invests in their footwear and wants to extend wearability. Durable. Works likes its supposed to, and protects my Danner Logger boots while I am working on construction sites. Dries quickly. Can be messy the first time you use it, but once you have applied it a few times, it gets easier. Highly reccomend. Only wish you got more product for the price.

This product is legit!
Put it on last night and it's 17ยฐ out right now. I have the floorboard heater on and it's still solid. The toe will obviously outlast the sole so I put tape over the sole stitching so I could replace those as needed. I did make the teeny mistake of wait a tad bit too long to pull the tape so some of it lifted off. My issue with the toe was the top tip of it from kneeling to work on cars so the spot that lifted won't be an issue in the slightest I will say it was hard to squeeze out of the tube and it had been sitting in my house and it's at 72ยฐ so it wasn't cold by any means. It was also a smidge difficult to get it to level out, my own doing I'd assume. Either way great product. I'll update in a few weeks once I get to fully use them (kneeling in the garage and whatnot) to see how bad they wore.

Great potential
I bought the tuff toe product to protect my EMS duty boots. As I was searching for a product to protect the boots I had a few expectations that I needed to be met. It must be resistant against physical damage, easy to clean, easy to install, and last at least as long as the boots. I am giving the product a 3 out of 5 based on my expectations and the customer service. I actually purchased the product twice for the same pair of boots. The fist application to the boots went well. I sanded down the leather as instructed. It took me about a half hour for each boot. The installation is fairly straight forward and was as expected with no complaints. I used the leftover product to coat the end of the shoe strings. This worked very well. The application worked well for about 3 months. After that there was a crack on the left boot where my boot bends as I climb stairs or in and out of the ambulance. I contacted customer service on the facebook account as suggested but did not receive a response. I sent another message later, again without a response. I took off a star for lack of customer service. I applied a second application after cutting and chipping the first one away. Unfortunately there is another crack at the same location as the first. I will assume this is because of how my boot bends. I will be purchasing a new pair of boots which are a little more solid. I'm using Bates right now but will switch to Danner Acadia. I don't hold this against the product. I really don't like the boots and used this as a stop gap when I should have just thrown them away and upgraded to new boots sooner. The product performed well. It acted as a toe protector against heavy objects more than once. I'm glad to have had it applied as the boots I was wearing did not have a built in protector. They were also very easy to clean. I used the hospital Virex spray without any issue. They shined up well and looked decent. The product works well for the price. There isn't too much you can expect of a cheap protector. I would recommend the product if your boots are fitting great but are being damaged on the front. This may save them but you might need to redo the application. I have not heard this from anyone else, just my experience.

Great product to protect steel toe boots
I bought this because the toes of my boots were wearing off and exposing the steel toe underneath. I tried shoe goo but that came off within a week. I decided to try to the tuff toe because it looks similar to the Pitcher's toe that I used on my softball cleats in high school and that worked great. The Tuff toe works good but I work a lot outdoors and my boots come in contact with a lot of different things (rocks, dirt/mud, tree stumps, etc.). The tuff toe is already peeling after just a few weeks and edges are starting to come off the boots but is still protecting my boots. Application is very easy, I found a video on the Tuff Toe website that gave a very good demonstration. There is a lot in the tube and it seems like way too much for just 1 pair of boots but I would suggest applying it thick or else it will wear down quickly. I would also suggest taking the time to really smooth out the product on your boots because if dries lumpy you'll be stuck with it. Overall, this is a great product. It did not work as perfectly as I hoped it would but it is cheaper than buying another pair of boots.

We shall see.
My Wolverines work boots are going on 5 months old, and I have already worn off the outside toe protection in some places: Mainly the forward, top, center of the toe. On one boot (not shown before repairing), I had already worn through the leather layer as well, down to the composite toe. So, I wanted to try and stop further deterioration from wear while keeping as much of the original looks as possible. These boots are my favorite. So, I used the applicator to put the liquid on, and a cheap artist brush to spread the liquid and cover up the damage. After it had dried a few minutes, I buffed out the shine with a paper towel. We will see how this holds up, as I deviated from the instructions to meet my goals. In any case, this product is easy to use, dries fast, and wasnโt messy. Update 4 months later: I'm a week away from four months since I applied this to my boots, and it's held up remarkably well. One boot has a couple of small knicks in the protection area, but nothing major, and no where near how the boots looked before I applied it. I work on a airport ramp, using my boots to flip up and engage aircraft metal locks, lifting heavy metal dolly tongues, kicking chocks in place. I occasionally scrape them on the concreate loading feeder aircraft pods. I'm rough on the boots, and this material holds up extremely well. The photo of my boots with the purple shoe strings is the update photo on how they have held up.

Tuff Toe for Boots works as advertised.
I purchased Tuff Toe for Boots three months ago, because the leather of the toe of my left Redwing work boot had a hole worn in it. I went to Redwing's website to see if I could send them back for repair. What I found was that I could send them back and they would apply Tuff Toe. Their website also stated that you can apply the product yourself and save money From their website, I watched a video on applying Tuff Toe yourself. After watching that video, I decided to buy it to repair my boots. I followed the directions and video. I had enough left to repair my hiking boots which also had a hole worn in the toe of the left boot. Next time, I will buy the Tuff Toe applicator. because my only complaint is the applicator that came with the repair kit works, but was difficult to apply enough continuous pressure to the plunger for application But as you can see by the pictures, I still got a nice application. I am very satisfied with this product. My one purchase of Tuff Toe saved me several hundred dollars. Plus I got the satisfaction of repairing my boots myself.

Save your money. Get the red wings product.
Iโm a glazier so I am often in a position where I have to kneel down to service windows and doors. So I basically NEEDED to have this on if I want to protect my boots for the long run. I usually buy the redwing one they sell in their store and put it on myself. Thereโs a huge difference on appearance and quality of the product. When you put THIS on it will dry way too fast. It wonโt allow you to smooth it out and shape it to the desired shape of the boot and simply just made my new $250 plus boots look like someone came and took a dump on my them. Literally! Iโve barely had it on for 2-3 weeks and they already started to peel and chip off. ๐ก as you can see my boot is exposed to potential damage now and they just look trashed! It is not worth the money or headache. I will look into getting a refund, if possible! I rather that money be spent at redwings and have them do it. I was just trying it out to see if this product was any good, but it was definitely not! I am really disappointed.

An honest down to earth review from an honest purchaser
Tuff toe is the product to use, it is a good thick application that is the only one to be used out there that is good enough that looks like it came from the factory. I'm going to let you know now of the product review of using it in the field. So far know I have been using it for a couple of months or even longer out in the construction field and is been holding up wonderfully to the outside elements and day to day field operations in the construction field. I've dealt with rebar, concrete, dirt, dust, water and so far it's held up wonderfully. This product I will absolutely and definitely use again for my boots even if they're brand new it will give the longevity of the toe if not protected. This product is wonderful and I will definitely purchase it and use it again and you have to remember it's not just for boots you could practically use it on anything that you want a great coding for protection for. The company I purchased from here gave me exactly what the product was, and I use the product exactly as you are supposed to. It was good shipping I paid extra for the fast shipping and it came a day before all in all I will use this company again no problems.

Not as advertised
Watched video and followed all instructions, came out garbage. Came out of applicator in black globs and runny clear. Had to forcibly use both hands to squeeze out product. What a waste of money and total BS advertising. Glad I was using to repair old hiking shoes not applying to new boots.

Does the job
If your boots didn't come with a rubber toe guard, this is the stuff for you. Has it's limits though, it can't take a direct impact, but works well in regards to keeping the toe safe from wearing off. Easy to apply, but once you start, don't stop, or the applicator will seize up on you.
