is this carpet runner waterproof for hardwood floors in kitchen near sink

I don’t think it is waterproof but can be cleaned carefully. It depends how wet you mean. I had one in my kitchen close to my sink and it worked out ok.

Is this pet friendly? One review response says it is and another says not to use with rabbits, what is the reason for the different responses?

I also do not recommend this item for use with certain pets such as rabbits-and I don't have any-is because they might be tempted to munch on the Seagrass as a food or Grass (this could be lethal to them)--it's kind of an obvious answer. If you look at it, you can see how any animal that eats grass normally might confuse this with a real food item because this is Real Seagrass. And it smells wonderful much like the seagrass near coastal areas. Guinea pigs also, I would say no. You have to think about whether this is good for them to be around when you are away. I would refrain from buying this if you happen to have a pet that tends to chew household items-some cats will chew on things and that's never good, and even some dogs-(thankfully, my dog doesn't chew-and he seems to enjoy the texture of it). Hope that helps :)

I had ordered a similar rug but the photo did not show that it was two toned. Is this one a solid color?

It is one solid color but there are color variations as it is a natural fiber. It’s a beautiful rug! I love mine!

The edges never flattened out so it is currently in my garage. Never had the chance to clean it. I would choose another option.
